The Papua New Guinea Stock Exchange (PNGX) has reached a historic milestone, with total market capitalisation exceeding K50 billion for the first time in the bourse's history, driven by strong performances from the resources and financial sectors.

The milestone was reached on Tuesday as shares in BSP Financial Group, Oil Search, and Kina Securities all traded at or near record highs. The PNGX composite index has gained 18.4% year-to-date, making it one of the best-performing exchanges in the Pacific region.
